Overview

The final project consists of an electret condenser microphone connected to a prototype circuit board. The microphone attaches to the neck of the breathing person. The board receives the sound signal, amplifies it, and sends it to a microcontroller, which performs an analog to digital conversion and calculates breath strength and frequency. Breath strength is displayed by a row of nine LEDs, and frequency is given in (breaths/min) by two seven-segment displays. Details on board performance and signal processing can be found in the documents section under Final Report.
