Marco Polo

Imagine meeting with a friend for the first time since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. Eager to catch-up and enjoy life, you decide to attend a popular sports bar on the night of the first Notre Dame football game. The bar is blaring, you decide to get a table away from the commotion so you can enjoy the game while also talking with your friend, but you soon find your friend’s voice fades into the background as the cheers of excited Notre Dame fans erupt.

Frustrated, you leave the bar to find a more quiet location. As you leave, you think to yourself, wouldn’t it be nice to enjoy the bar and talk to your friend normally?

Introducing ... MARCO POLO

How it works

Under the hood...

1

Noise Cancellation

Active noise cancellation takes in ambient sound, inverts it, and injects it into headphones to provide a flat noise plane

2

Directional Attenuation

Respeaker Core V2 uses beamforming algorithms to amplify sound in one direction and attenuate sound from all other directions

3

High Volume User Alert

When a high volume threshold is met, the direction of arrival is sent to trigger a right or left vibrational indicator to alert the user of potentially dangerous situations
