Why Model a Microgrid?

Self-Sufficient

With their own energy storage system and power generation, microgrids are largely able to operate without drawing power from a larger electricity grid.

Resilient

Because microgrids are isolated from the larger electricity grid, they are not as prone to power outages or other disruptive events. They can draw extra power from the energy storage system if needed.

Energy-Saving

Extra energy generated by solar panels can be stored in the energy storage system for future use, so less energy is wasted.

Renewable Energy

Solar panels function as the main source of power generation, which means no harmful fossil fuel emissions.
